Councilmember Wendy North announced during the council meeting on December 14, 2023 that she will be moving away from Spring Hill and will no longer be able to serve as a member of the City Council. The City of Spring Hill is currently accepting letters of interest for anyone who is interested in serving on the City Council. Letters of interest are due Friday, January 12, 2024 at noon.

Councilmember North’s term is from February 2022 to January 2026. Pursuant to Charter Ordinance No. 36, vacancies in the City Council are filled by the Mayor, with advice and consent of the remaining City Council members, and the appointed member will serve until January 2026. Because the seat will be vacated during the term, Charter Ordinance No. 36 states that the seat must be filled by appointment, not election.

You can watch Councilmember North's announcement from the December 14, 2023 Council meeting livestream around the 1:05:50 mark.
