Trash Service FAQ
Summer Heat Schedule
WM operates one hour in the summertime earlier to allow crews to finish their routes and avoid the hottest hours of the day. Please ensure all items are on the curb by 5 a.m. on your collection day each week. This change ensures safer and more efficient working conditions for WM crews during the hot summer season. The City of Spring Hill and WM appreciate your cooperation!
What day will my trash be picked up?
Households north of 207th Street will have trash, recycling and yard waste pickup on Thursdays, beginning October 5. Households south of 207th Street will have trash, recycling and yard waste pickup remain on Fridays.
All items need to be on the curb by 5 a.m. on your collection day.
Do I have to use the carts issued by WM?
Yes. Utilizing the carts is mandatory, as they work with the automated trucks. The 95 gallon trash cart is the weekly household limit. Any trash over the 95 gallon limit should be bagged and have a prepaid sticker on it. Recycling carts should be used strictly for recyclable materials and not for trash, yard waste, or hazardous waste.
Will I be charged for the carts issued by WM?
No. Use of the carts is mandatory and customers are not charged a rental fee.
Will I be automatically enrolled for Notify Me?
No. Notify Me does not have your address information. The messages are sent the day before collection to remind households to have items on the curb. Click here to subscribe to reminders for Thursday pickup or Friday pickup.
What is the weekly limit for trash?
Trash is limited to three bags, three cans (both a maximum of 30 gallons); or any 95 gallon cart. Trash in excess of these amounts should be placed in a bag with a pre-paid sticker attached. Stickers are available in sheets of 5 for $7.50 at City Hall or at Price Chopper customer service, 22350 S. Harrison St.
